“We are excited to launch our first office investment in Bucharest. This is an important market for us, where we see great potential and have long-term plans. Skanska’s commitment towards quality, sustainability and ethics, have been strongly embraced by the market. We have received a number of enquiries from potential tenants who are looking for high quality and sustainable products in an established business location. Green Court Bucharest meets these needs fully. By being an integrated construction and development company, we control the value chain thus ensuring deliverability,” said Andreas Lindelöf, President of Skanska Romania.
Skanska’s first office project in Bucharest is located at Gara Herastrau Street in the Floreasca-Barbu Vacarescu area and, according to the company, it offers excellent access to important communication routes and city airports. Additionally, the building will offer bicycle storage, showers and changing rooms.
The scheme will be built in compliance with the principles of sustainable development, which means that Green Court Bucharest will feature numerous innovative solutions to minimize the buildings’ environmental footprint. Like all the projects developed by Skanska in the CEE, the complex will apply for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. The first phase of Green Court Bucharest has already obtained LEED Gold pre-certification. Modern technologies, such as a highly energy efficient façade and occupancy lighting sensors will not only ensure a comfortable working environment, but will also result in significant reduction of the buildings’ operating costs.
